Does this directory give SEO benefit or not

Quick one this...

The owner of a certain directory is insisting that a link in the directory does pass on SEO benefit but I'm not convinced because the link on the page appears to go to some sort of intemediary page before redirecting.

An example is Off the Beat n' Track Camping and Accessories @ ExplorOz

Does the owner of Off The Beaten Track get any SEO benefit from this listing?

Well this is really hard to prove unless you work at Google. How about looking at websites in the directory currently that only have links from this guys website?

Struggled to find a site with no other IBL's however, I've had a look at a few sites that are listed and using my favourite backlink checker have not been able to find links from the site

Nor have I been able to by using the "Link:www..." command in G but we all know that doesn't tell the full story..

Also if you hover over the supposed link and Right Click and 'copy shortcut' this is what it reveals:
