Hey everyone
How would you like to earn $10.00 for each business in your area that you help list on Google Maps? If you have an internet connection and a digital camera you can earn $10.00 for each business in your area that you gather information for, take a couple of pictures and then send to Google Maps. Once the business is verified you get the $10.00 Visit local area businesses to collect information (such as hours of operation, types of payment accepted, etc.) for Google Maps, and tell them about Google Maps and Google AdWords. Take a few digital photos of the business that will appear on the Google Maps listing along with the business information. You have to enter the business' info and pics to Google through your Local Business Referrals Center The fee is split and includes $2 when a business referral is approved by Google; and $8 when an approved business verifies that the information you submitted is accurate. You have to earn $25.00 or more per month to get paid. You can read more here. Google Business Referral Representative FAQ Peace! |

Interesting idea, but by my math that works out to about minimum wage.. You could make more money saying, you want fries with that??

Seems like a lot of work to go out and take pictures, collect the data and submit it. Unless you live next door to the businesses you're going to submit, you'll probably spend more on gas money than you'll earn from Google.
I've seen the pics showing up on some local listings and they're not all that great either... helpful, but not great.

Although we are also not very interested in going door-to-door for Google, I can see how it can be a bigger opportunity for others though. And, I agree that the fee does not equate the time spent, etc. However, done right, this could be another leverage for networking - design companies that may be first starting out and looking for prospects, for example, could do well knowing which local companies need what and mention their services.

Just glancing at G-Maps I doubt they would pay for listings already mapped. New businesses just opening might be ok yet I doubt I'm the only one in my locale that knows about the referral program so it would probably not be worth my time.

Sadly this referral programme is only available in the USA. At present.
