Default Do SEs follow same algo for all its product?

Google and yahoo are having different services. for instance, google is having image search, video search, blog search, book search and of course the web search.

Do google follow the same algo for all of its product for betterment of the search? I mean, do they follow the same concepts to refine their search results?
i.e. 1) page relevancy for keywords 2) link popularity of the page 3) good user experience of the page etc

I seriously doubt it. The web results guidelines from Google supposedly weight a pages value based on 100 or so different factors. It wouldn't make sense or be possible to use the same factors for video, images etc

I have had my blog indexed by Google's blog search for a keyword that wasn't even the main keyword - and Google webmaster tells me that the bot hadn't visited the site for over a month!

I'd have to come to a conclusion that google's blog search's focus is kind of like zudos.com - to have immediate and up to date results, and relevance is a little less of a factor

Well conceptually the goal here is to get the most relevant results to the end searcher with all Google products., but the fine details of each of the Google product algorithms are probably vastly different.

thanks for all your feedback. Actually we just launched a video in youtube and other popular video sharing sites for our company site and I was planning of optimizing the pages in terms of backlinks to find it at the top of SERP for a particular query

I heard that google now looks more for the link popularity to rank higher in the serp but yahoo considers on page factors more important. My doubt is if google follows the same algo for video/image search as it uses while web search.
