Default Mystified by Google's actions

I had a very surreal experience with Google this week. First, I received an email telling me that Google was suspending my Adwords account because they objected to my blog (The Holt Blog)

I wrote back and objected because they had not given me a reason for the ban, and because I disagreed with their objection. I told them that if they wanted to ban me, then I should be given a reason so that I might be able to fix the problem.

Now, I admit I had one picture on the blog that I had doctored of two men having sex. I put someone else's face on one of the men because that person (Keith Summers) had been attacking me in his website with nasty insinuations and false accusations. But the picture only showed the men's nude bodies side on, one on top of the other, and it was there to make a point that had nothing to do with the sex act.

I removed the picture and waited for a reaction from Google.

A few days later another Google person wrote back and said it appeared they had made a mistake, apologised for the inconvenience, and told me they were turning my Adwords account back on. Yippee!

I still don't know if they objected to that picture. But removing it did generate a good response for which I am thankful to Google.

But my question is, would a picture like that really upset google so much? Surely, if they had read the accompanying article they might have realized the reasons for posting it? Would that have made a difference?

I will be blunt - it was an extremely childish act on your behalf. I have no doubt that they reported your actions and Google acted upon it. There are more subtle and productive methods to adopt. I hope you have learned a valuable lesson.
