New Google parsing

I don't know about the DMOZ rumor but the screenshots of the Google test pages are veryInteresting.

Note that unlike now, in the sample page with the search for car hire, the Google serps are bolding terms parsed out of multi-keyword URLs, which Google is not doing with the regular pages now. This would seem to indicate some advanced parsing ability and an interest in parsing keywords out of the URLs...

OK do a search in google for car hire and look at the serps.

You will see that all the search terms in the SERPs are bolded, but the keywords in the URLs are not bolded unless they are seperated by a dash so that the URL:

www.carrentals.co.uk/ does not have the word car bolded in the URL though it is bolded in all the other places it appears.
Google has for a long time bolded in the SERPs those instances of the search terms that they recognize as relevant.

Now if you look at the car hire SERPS screen shot of the new Google you will notice that the same companies results in the New google serp has the word car bolded in the serp:

www.carrentals.co.uk/

and just below it the url Http://www.carhire4less.co.uk has both car and hire bolded.

IMO the bolding of the keywords in the URL indicates that Google is now able to parse URLs for keywords that are not dash seperated, and to carry the thought a bit farther, why are they bothering to upgrade the system to parse out keywords in the URL if they are not using them in some way?

This would seem to indicate that since Google are possibly going to start parsing out keywords in the URLs and using them in some way, Keyword rich URLs may be back in fashion again soon.

The evidence may be flimsy at the moment, but it is interesting.
