Default PR4 but only home page indexed

Hi all,
Long time reader, first time poster... website builder by trade who incorporates general SEO on all client sites I build.

I've had PR4 on the homepage of my own site for several months and Google re-indexes it every week, but it still hasn't indexed any other pages on the site -> http://www.worldmusicworld.com/

I can see from some domain search tools that the site has been on a number of IP addresses prior to me buying it, but could this or any other reasons contribute towards Google ignoring the rest of my site?

Any suggestions appreciated.

Regards,
Nigel

Do you have IBLs pointing to those pages? Check it out with this tool first: http://www.webuildpages.com/seo-tool...pages-tool.php

Re: IBL to subpages: no, only to the homepage.

There is some duplicate content on some of the subpages i.e the "articles", but there is also a lot of unique content which still hasn't been indexed.

The majority of the site is database driven, but I've tried to make the URL's fairly friendly but URL encoding them e.g http://www.worldmusicworld.com/bands...Smoking+Jacket

I use an XML type sitemap which is regularly read as well.

Regards,
Nigel

It will take time, Google will sort itself out, just go on adding unique content to your other pages.

It would appear that your Meta tags are not used consistently (some pages have them, some don't). I'm not saying this makes a huge difference, but if you're going to use them, use them consistently.

It also appears that you have very few incoming links; the most shown from one engine is only 6 links (MSN). Definitely work on improving these counts if you want to show up more.

Why don't you do some social bookmarking and create an RSS feed, and submit it to feeds directories?

It is true that you site is not indexed in Google, but you have PR 3, as there are some quality links pointing to your homepage.

I performed a HTTP / HTTPS Header Check and seems as you have problems there. Did you mess something up in your .htaccess file?

I also noticed that you are repeating keywords in your title and meta description meta tags. That hurts.

I am not sure if that is a good idea to have AdWords as first on your pages. I would place all that after your right navigation.

I do not understand why you use these useless Meta Tags:
<meta name="generator" content="HTML Tidy for Linux/x86 (vers 12 April 2005), see www.w3.org" />
<meta name="author" content="referencement Conseil" />
<meta name="robots" content="index, follow" />
<meta name="revisit-after" content="1 Week" />
<meta name="language" content="fr" />
<meta name="copyright" content="referencement conseil" />
<meta name="rating" content="general" />

If you are using the author meta tags in terms of accessibility, that is fine. But I am sure that is not the case for you.

As I do not understand French, do you have an "About Us" and "Contact" pages? If not, you seriously need them. Otherwise your site is not trustworthy, also for Search Engines.

I am running some further checks. As soon I am done, I will get back to you. OK?

But by the way, aren't you an SEO? Or did I understand something wrong on that page?

Some more issues:

# Doctype is missing on all your pages.
# Your pages contains validation errors.
# You pages specify multiple encodings.

That is all I can tell you so far. I hope others will come up with some more stuff for you.

Good luck.
