Google AdWords Ads Now Showing on MySpace

According to a report, Google's latest search network partner is MySpace. This means that your AdWords ads will now appear on MySpace.com and if you're an AdWords PPC customer then you cannot opt out of it.

Google’s AdSense for Search has gone live on MySpace.com. Clients currently running ads on Google’s Search Network are now eligible to have their ads served on MySpace.com searches for US-based traffic only.

I expect this traffic to not convert as well as other traffic being that it's MySpace.

Huh? Are you saying if I opt out of the content network this doesn't include MySpace? If I opt for only Google properties then that is all I want!!

If they are placing ads in MySpace without our control or knowledge I would be surprised.

This is exactly what I'm saying. MySpace is not part of the contextual network, it's part of the search network that includes AOL, etc.

So, basically you have to choose now: is it better to opt in for the search network that includes good conversions from AOL or to opt out of the search network that includes MySpace that doesn't convert.

If you can live with the MySpace traffic that won't convert then hopefully the AOL traffic will cover what you lose.
