Does Google prefer OAI instead of XML Sitemaps?

I would like to ask here, if Google prefers OAI instead of XML sitemaps. If yes, please explain. If not, please explain too.

If she really said that there is no difference between XML site maps and OAI, then she would have been lying or she has not the slightest idea about web & software development & engineering. OK?

I think it is true that it matters not to Google whether they are provided an XML sitemap, an OAI-PMH sitemap, or any sitemap at all for that matter. They really don't care if you show up in their results or not.

But back to OAI and XML. Has anyone here used an OAI repository to provide this information to Google? It appears to me that an OAI-PMH sitemap can provide much richer information about your site and its contents. It also appears to me that this may be more complicated than small sites (less than 100 pages or so) wish to, or need to, pursue.

Any comments?

well, since the sitemaps.org protocol focuses on XML, i think that's a good indicator of what Google, Yahoo and MSN are focusing on...

That is why I am asking. But anyway it is obvious that Google would prefer that, considering what Narasihna stated above.
