Founder of Wikipedia plans search engine to rival Google.
"Jimmy Wales, the founder of Wikipedia, the online encyclopedia, is set to launch an internet search engine with amazon.com that he hopes will become a rival to Google and Yahoo!" #### I say good luck. No search engine should totally dominate. |

What a great idea - there is definitely room for more search engines and a human based venture sounds good. Surprised that dmoz didn't go this way. Maybe they will!
The algo based engine has done a great job but it has its limits - a human/peer review based system would provide a great alternative. It could work on the basis of we/our editors recommend the following and focus on the purpose of the search ie shopping, research, entertainment etc. Good luck to them - I wonder how long wikipedia results will appear high in g's serps!? Not sure about the name I'd go for wikisearch, myself! Happy New Year to all
