Copyrighted video hijinks by YouTube users will cost Google a pretty penny. You can count on two things happening:

1) Google will write some big checks to media companies.
2) Google has already figured out how to make that money back.

A wad of cash to keep the boys happy and video sharing will survive and prosper without too much bother.
The team at Google obviously have taken a calculated risk and it should pay off handsomely in the long term once they pay their dues.
