Default Google PageRank Vs Alexa Rank

Google PageRank Vs Alexa Rank :
They're both pretty shaky. alexa is interesting on traffic, but really easy to manipulate by just one person. pagerank is trying to rate "importance" by counting links, not traffic. Taken together, they sort of give you an idea, but you could have a well regarded site on a subject that no one cares about that has decent pagerank and is in the top 50,000 on alexa because it's owner visits all the pages frequently.

If Google Page Rank, that appears in the Google Toolbar, is the measure of a particular webpage’s popularity or importance, mainly, base on the number of inbound links as computed using the pagerank formula, Alexa Traffic Rank, on the other hand, is the measure of a website’s traffic, including traffic from its sub-domains, based on a three months of aggregated historical traffic data from Alexa Toolbar users.

This is kinda unfair. To choose one depends on the intended purpose of the information. i use both ranks all the time with the knowledge that they give totally different types of information. You can't say which one is better. They're both limited in their own ability to give a true reflection on what they're attempting to demonstrate. They both have flaws, but are both very useful, if taken in context, and not relied upon soley for an accurate representation of any particular site.

For web marketing and advertising: Alexa
For SEO: PR

Personally they both are crap to me, but PR at least is somewhat real. Internally Google PR means a lot, but Alexaand Tollbar PR are just pure junk.

Agreed, both are for novelty value only.
The only time that PR is useful is if somebody uses the Google Directory to search your keywords.

Your time is probably better served improving your pages and links which can help your PR.
I doubt anyone really cares about Alexa.
