When reviewing my Google Webmaster Tools today, I was surprised to see "No pages from your site are currently included in Google's index." However, another domain name that I have redirected to this same website IS still listed as indexed. I've always had the message "Pages from your site are included in Google's index." under the summary section so I am totally clueless why suddenly my site is not included? Could I have possibly been (gasp) banned? If so, how do I find out why and does or will Google notify me?
The url that is suddenly not included in the index is www.shopat-home.com and the url that is redirected to shopat-home.com is www.URCleanandLean.com - which IS included in the index. Please advise, I'm relatively new at this and have no clue what to do here ... thanks |

Your home page of www.urcleanandlean.com is indexed--the other site is not indexed.
Usually, you can tell whether or not a site is banned by using the site:www.domain.com search in Google. If there are no pages indexed, then it's banned.

www.shopat-home.com and www.URCleanandLean.com are having identical content. You will be likely to be penalised. You may want to do a 301 redirect to one site instead.

You appear to have your DNS for www.URCleanandLean.com set up to use frame-based web forwarding to www.shopat-home.com, where you should be using a 301 redirect.
You need to set up www.URCleanandLean.com in its own web space, and place a text file called .htaccess in the web root. That file should contain 1 line: redirect 301 / http://www.shopat-home.com If www.URCleanandLean.com already has a .htaccess file when you set it up, add the line above as the last line in the file There are risks in switching from one domain to another, and it's worth reading the following thread first - you might change your mind! http://www.webmasterworld.com/forum30/31035.htm |

After all the panic, my site is now listed as indexed again in my google webmaster tools. The only change I had made before my psuedo ban was to remove my Adsense code - could that have caused a temporary ban? Now however, some of my in-bound links are sending me emails stating that they are removing my link - ugh!
I will set up the 301 redirect code as suggested - is it as simple as just adding the line: redirect 301 / http://www.shopat-home.com Is the text file .htaccess a file containing specific code? Where can I read about it/get access so that I can set up the redirect? And finally, why is a simple forwarded URL not acceptable? Thanks, and by the way Artist Discovery wrote Quote:
