Default Link page getting harder to be indexed by Google

Have you noticed that there are many websites link pages never indexed by Google? These websites link pages don't seem to be new.

This make me think that reciprocal links are dying.

Default What good are???

What good is a link to a ladies spa from a Telephone repair company? These link pages are in my opinion a waste of internet space and of no value to the web sites visitors.

I'm not sure why people would want their link pages indexed by the major engines, outside of they are charging people to be on that page.

A link page with 200 links is basically worthless to the average site visitor if 199 of those links have nothing to do with the site that they are currently on.

I still can't see the link pages of many sites in Google's index even thought these link pages have a lot of relevant links.

Google is getting smarter, they want to make sure that sites display in the search result are in high quality.

Default A list of "somewhat" relative links?

Why the concern? Bareley relevant or not, a link page is just that, a link page, and has no real value IMHO.

Valuable links are only given within other content. What is your concern with the link pages not being listed? Do you go to every web sites "link" pages?

And what larger more reputable companies do you see link pages on?

I just find it's getting harder to increase my reciprocal links. Most of the potential link partners that contact me don't have a indexed link page.

Default Links outside of content are worthless...

Okay, I'll put this up, and I'm sure I'll get bashed by someone on this, butttttt....

IMHO links to your site, outside of quality content are worthless. I'm not sure if you are speaking of the site in your profile, but I'd focus more on content, than IBL's from random links pages, and I'd focus on creating value for your visitor.

The minute I got to that site, I was immediately turned off by the ad placement, and didn't want to go any further.

There have been a bug with the site operator query in Google to see how many pages of your site has in the index.

http://sitemaps.blogspot.com/2006/05...tor-query.html

Adam Lasnik writes in a comment at Digg

Quote:
Our engineers recently noticed that our site: queries (number of results listed for a search) were showing bizarre results. This has turned out to be tied to a bad data push, and we're fixing this right now.
A link from a page can give you some traffic. I see some traffic coming from this type of links when
1) The link page has few OBL on it
2) The linking site has more authority/trust and link pages show up in the serps
3) The links and anchor text are targeted for long tail keywords

I understand that, Adsense sites gain bad image lately. But I did provide original content and it is helpful to certain groups of people in my blog. I don't know whether I'm writting quality content, but don't worry I'll make sure I don't add another garbage site to search engines.

On the other hand, I experienced that quality content will not rank high in Google unless certain numbers of backlinks have been achieved.

Agreed. However, I wouldn't get rid of recips if you have them already. Creating content and developing quality links are the best use of your time rather than a link exchange campaign. Random link exchanges are gamed out.
