Default Shallow Bots - Deep Bots?

Last week I heard someone say something along the lines of google carries out a deep search through a site, and initially google will do a sort of surface crawl of your site. does anyone know how this works.

I am aware that after building a 50-100 page website google will put the index page on its engine. and after a few more weeks I then start to see the other pages appearing,,,,,which is always a nice feeling.

Also is there a ceiling limit of links per page, I once used web position gold, (no comment!) But since just doing pages from 'feeling the force' methods I have found that up to a 100 links on a page really does do well on google.

weird?

Thanks for taking the time to read my novice waffle

Jonathan

Google "recommends" no more than 100 links on a page, although it is not clear that you would be penalized for having more if they were relevant. More than 100 links on a page wouldn't exactly be user-friendly for your visitors anyway...

Keep the links on a given page to a reasonable number (fewer than 100).
