How come google shows no PR and no backlinks on #4 serp ?

How can a site rank at postion 3 or 4 on moderately competitive terms and have no PR and no back links compared to sites around it?

eg www.capelrugs.com
or
www.myweddingfavors.com

Both have no back links or PR.
Does this mean they will soon disappear from serps?

PR and backlinks aren't the only thing that Google looks at for ranking webpages. The site is a well built website for SEO.

Yes, but google specifically shows PR0 and No back links for these sites,whereas every other result on the page has PR4 or PR5 and 30 to 80 backlinks.

How can this be?
I know google doesn't show all backlinks, but to show NONE at all and then rank the site #3 for a competitive phrase seems strange.

I have a site that at one time had PR, nothing changed but the PR and links went to 0.

The site still holds a #1 in Google on a competitive term that sends a lot of traffic, so it doesn't bother me. :)

Because PR on the toolbar and the backlinks operator your using is not accurate (or up-to-date) to what Google may see internally. This is why you see news stories ranking all of the time without PR or backlinks for pretty popular keywords.
