I have recently noticed some strange things in google with my site.
My site is a .com that is hosted in Australia, so when you do an Australian only search in Google my site would appear in the results. When I did a search on "www.google.com.au" search "the web" for "boats for sale" my site "www.gotboats4sale.com" was on page one. When I did a search on "www.google.com.au" search "pages from Australia" for "boats for sale" my site "www.gotboats4sale.com" was also on page one. NOW When I do a search on "www.google.com.au" search "pages from Australia" for "boats for sale" my site "www.gotboats4sale.com" is on page 4, but the "the web" search remains the same. Also when I do a site search on Google Aus for my site "site:www.gotboats4sale.com" I get "www.gotboats4sale.com/" for search "the web" and "www.gotboats4sale.com/DEFAULT.ASP" for "pages from Australia" I don't use upper case anywhere on my site. Does anyone have any ideas or theories? |

ChrisW,
a similar thing is happening with Google.co.uk. Several UK hosted dot.coms - both ones I manage and competitors - are being downgraded from page 1s to page 3 and 4s. They're still there in results. Unlike a foreign hosted dot.com.
