I reported to Google a website that had 100’s of domains pointing to one website that was cloaking my copy. In about two weeks I noticed many of the domains of this website were missing from the search and figured Google did something. But many new domains pointing to this same website had shown up. I would say it has been about 5 weeks and 3 more spam report submissions to Google and I have yet to see them do something about this obvious deception and theft. This is not a very encouraging campaign effort on their part for halting spam.

Google generally do not act on spam reports. Unless its something like a porn site taking over a Disney site.
What they have made clear is that they use the spam reports to learn about spam techniques so the algorithm can be tweaked for automatic detection, automatic banning, automatic rechecks to see if site is now ok and automatic re-instatement. Can you imagine how many spam reports they might get in a day? There is just no way that they are or will check them all --> hence the need for the scable algo to deal with it. How many of these spam reports are legit. Don't forget that in some cases SPAM = Site Positioned Above Mine. Also what one person considers spam, another may consider a good marketing technique. I still submit spam reports, but do not hold my breath. I would prefer Google employ and army of spam fighers to deal with it manually, but guess its not going to happen. It is in theor best interest to have spam free results. BTW - what is wrong with having 100's of domains pointing to one website? - I can't see any advantage in it either. CBP |

If they have your copy, file a complaint under the DMCA with Google:
