Default What is '%c0' ,showing in website url?

Hi,

Can anybody tell me why '%c0' is added in my website url?

e.g. www.mysite%c0.com and this page is also cached by google. When clicked on Cached link it shows [cache:MbfSWDKt_g4J:www.cialisforu.com%c0/ "www.cialisforu.com"] did not match any documents.

But if you remove %cO from the above line i.e. if you search [cache:MbfSWDKt_g4J:www.cialisforu.com/ "www.cialisforu.com"], it shows the latest and correct cached page of the website.

But if you search for cache:www.mysite.com , google shows 1 year back cached page.

Is it the problem with google or my server or anything else.

Please help me.

Thanks

To find out the meaning of special characters in the URL such as %C0, put the mouse over the link to that URL and look at your browser status bar (on the bottom). You can then match what the status bar shows with what' in the address bar (top)to find the meaning of the special character.
In this case %c0 in capital A with acute accent. That's an unsual character and I can suspect it was a typo.

Another way to find out the what the charcter is
run charmap (start, run type in charmap)

This shows a list of all characters
as you hover over the characters it tell you there code
so you can find out 41 is captial A
If you hover about a bit you can find C0 is an A with a grave accent

As to it being in google - I'm confused - I think you would need to give examples - I'm nt sure if it's in google or just your browser cache

Hi,

If you search Google for - allinurl:www.cialisforu.com , two listings are displayed. In second listing check out for the url below the description and adjacent to Cached link. The link showed there is www.cialisforu.com%c0/.

If you click on Cached link there, the page opened shows -
Your search - cache:MbfSWDKt_g4J:www.cialisforu.com%c0/ www.cialisforu.com - did not match any documents.

My first question is, What is "MbfSWDKt_g4J" prefixed before the url?

Seconly, why '%c0' is added to that search query and what is it?

If you remove '%c0' from that search query, the Google shows : cache of http://www.cialisforu.com / (look the space before trailing slash) as retrieved on 31 Aug 2006. But if you take your mouse over this url it shows the correct url without any spaces and opens the site correctly.

Third question is why google is showing space between the site url? What does it mean?

Can anybody have the reasonable answer for it?

Please get me a solution for it !

Thanks

You need to look at your DNS records from the sound of it, or contract someone who can do this for you..

Hi,

When I checked my site a couple of days back, it is not showing "%c0" in my site url. The problem is sorted out.

But, how it happened? I don't know.

Thanks Google...for your update... :-)
