Default Investigating increased, lost or reduced PR!

I would kindly like to ask you, if your site or pages had any PR loss after the last PR update, please add those link(s) here.

Also, if your site or pages PR increased too.

If you know the number of the backlinks to them before and after, please add them too.

I am also trying to figure something out.

And please no discussions here.

Thanks.

John

Yes, one of the busier sections on my site seems to have no page rank
http://restored-classic.com/chevy/1966.html
series of pages like this from around 1916 onwards

(this section normaly around 2000 page views daily)

Unfortunately I do not normally record page rank, But I am fairly sure I had some ranking here.

as far as I can tell the only one with rank is the one linked from main page. (navigation page)
http://www.restored-classic.com/chevy/
peculiar because as far as I can tell just about every link from the main page seems to have a 3

Not sure what your looking for. Or If this is usefull.
Have not noticed and reduction in traffic.

My PR went down by 2 points (from 5 to 3) on the homepage. Most internal pages went down 1 point(from 4,5,6,or7). The site is http://www.emptymirrorbooks.com

The site has been PR5 for 5 years - this is the first decline we've had.

Backlinks before the update was 109, now showing 101.

For 2 days before the PR update, various datacenters were showing our PR at either 0 or 5. After the update it went to 3.

Oh, and oddly, today (July 18) the toolbar PR shows either 3 or 0.

Really puzzled & trying to figure it out.

Oh, and the brand-new, month-old directory we just launched, www.indiecoffeehouse.com/directory/, got a PR5. That was great news, but the thrill is dulled a bit by our other site's loss of PR.

I assist the owner of www.jadesbeadedjewelry.com
The site went live March 06 and has picked up approx 12 IBL to date. PR had been 0 until last week and now shows a steady PR3 on index page and PR2 on most of the interior pages. I say steady because several weeks ago we saw PR3 for a day and then it went back to 0. Hope this helps.

John,

I am not sure what you are trying to "figure out" here but here are my observations:

1)Google has tightened up their criteria regarding "Relevancy" in IBLs and maybe in OBLs.

2) The "half life" of a link has been fairly short for some time. I subscribe to "Google Alerts" for years now, so that I am notified of new links found. They keep finding the same one's over and over again. This seems to indicate a time delimination on IBL value. If this time value of links is real, it may have also been revised against # of visits from a given source, or some other criteria there.

I lost about half of mine without losing PR or SERP, and haven't seen too many Sites that haven't lost significant IBL count.

Ken

Our site is a week or so away from being revampted, however the current index page went from PR4 to 3 with BD update and also went down to the bottom of the on the first SERP. After the most recent update, the PR stayed the same but the SERP results went back up to 1st and 2nd listing for our desired search terms - exactly where it was before. A couple of inside pages are are PR4 but can't say what they were prior to BD. Site: www.ifm.ca

Go figure.

John,

we saw the PR of our home page www.airpurifiersforhome.com drop from PR5 to PR4. Internal pages went from PR4 to PR3. There were no changes in the SERPs.

yep... lost PR on all major subpages. homepage is fine.

http://www.imageworksstudio.com is still PR5

subpage example (1 of 25 or so)
http://www.imageworksstudio.com/inde...webserv_design

has dropped from PR 3 to PR 4

Also we are using a 301 redirect to act a 404... does this matter? Sure the page that was requested was never there... but does Google care? The user experience is the same

Joel thank you for providing me here with this valuable information.

Though, please start a thread if you have any questions about that redirect issue.

As I mentioned above, no discussions or questions here please.

Thanks for your understanding.

I remembered your original post just after I hit submit - apologies.

Want more info?

The IE toolbar says those subpages pages have a PR 4, Firefox says PR 3.

see site in signature...

Page rank (for what everyone says its worth) = 4
Everything internal, as far are I can tell, that has some age = 3
New pages of the last week or so (glass items) have a rank of = 0

Traffic is halved over last few days.

Backlinks are at an all time low of 15.

Suicide is NOT an option.

I forgot to mention that previously Google was showing 12 backlinks. Now Google reports 13.

Yes, my page has been bouncing up and down like a ping pong ball on a rubber band being smacked with a paddle. It went from PR 4 to 0... and now it seems to be bouncing from 3 to 0. Almost all pages under home, including products with up to 2PR are at 0. http://www.especially4her.com/index.html

My other website isn't nearly as established and so far, the main page is ok, but pages underneath are also being bounced around. http://www.southernercandle.com/index.html

Very disheartening!

My site www.OracleBand.net
Index page went from PR4 to PR0 one week ago
Internal pages unaffected
Current backlinks = 66
Sorry, I don't have the previous number of backlinks, but it has remained basically the same.

I would kindly like to ask you if you figured it out or perhaps started a new topic? May I have the link if applicable? Otherwise, I look forward to reading about what you have learned.

Best regards,
