Default BlackHat CSS

When will Google attack CSS layout that puts text -2000px of a page? example;
<div id="aprimary-nav">
<ul class="nav">
<li id="aprimary-nav-1"><span>Home</span>

#aprimary-nav a span { position: absolute; left: -2000px; width: 999px; }

Has anyone seen anybody getting affected by this sort of coding? There is no blackhat intent here at all in fact. One thing i guess google could/is? do is just notice this and disregard the link? I want to use images instead of text in the design ...

Thanks Ken the responses from Matt Cutts on threadwatch were interesting. I have decided to play it safe and remove the images and just have text buttons. I feel that i should not really have to be concerned about it though. Google should just come out and say we will do this. All the smoke and mirrors does not help anyone;

CSS

We can flag text that appears to be hidden using CSS at Google. To date we have not algorithmically removed sites for doing that. We try hard to avoid throwing babies out with bathwater.
