Default How google defines links?

Here is the situation: I have some very valuable links to my site, but google doesn't show them when I type "link:www.mysite.com", so they probably don't increase my PR.
I looked at those pages, that link to me and everything seems to be fine. The links are direct, there is no nofolow tag, the URL is correct. Some of those links are more than 2 years old, so it can't be that google didn't index them.
What can be the problem?

Try being more simplistic "mysite" no .com, no www, also post the url in the forum - both of you please. In that way other posters can see what is showing from their google database.

Google NEVER shows all the inbound links to a site. never ever. for a more accurate assesment of these links, use Yahoo Search.

Does Google continue to show only what they deem most relevant?

There seems to be some kind of relevancy threshold there.

according to an unnamed yahoo source (high up), they don't show all the links because they don't want to reveal all of their indexing capability. it's more of a trade secret thing than trying to hurt or trick the searcher, at least from his perspective.

I would certainly think that the current BigDaddy snaffu with exposing inner-workings by linking nonexistent Site entities in the supplemental index would reveal much more naked skin than that!

Looks like an advert to me, but I didn't actually check the "validity" of their tool.

As far as Google showing the "most valued" links. I don't think they do, since deep onsite links show up. If these were indeed the "most valued" a site could link with just it's nav for most anything.

Agree withCD, but I did find it interesting that it found Yahoo to be so out of date with it's links. Chris is right you never will know just how many links you have. Just be grateful if you are listed.
