Default Straight Google Search = Best PPC Conversions?

Hi everyone,

I looked around but have not seen anything on this topic.

In Pay Per Click I am finding that the Google Search pages convert much better, than the Google Search Partners Network. It seems to be a signifigent percentage as well.

Do you run PPC Ads on Google Search pages or their Network of sites??? Which has the best conversions for you??

This is not in reference to the Content Search which really performs poorly.

Thank you for the help.

Default Depends on the market

It really depends on the market. Some keywords in our campaigns have worked really well on content match, some really well in the Google partners, and some only perform well in Google search. It's pretty rare that any of them perform well in all 3. Out of almost 700,000 phrases I've tried, only a few dozen have worked across all three.

Hi Brian

Thank you. Noted for future reference.

Content so far has not worked well at all for any of the terms I've used.

I thought there was a break down however between Google Search Pages & the Partner Network but I think I am wrong on that.

I agree, we do not use content network at all because of poor results. My guess is click fraud eats into the results.

Yes, it depends quite a bit on the market. We used to get a decent return on apparel related terms from the Google search network (mostly AOL), but we never did well with the content network.

Default Content Network Use

For one of my clients we get much better results in Content Ads precisely because the competitors all fear fraud. They dont advertise there at all - leaving the bid prices low. Then we optimize to the point where conversions in content cost us a similar $ amount as they do for Search Ads. This usually involves paying about 20% as much for the content ads as we do for the Search. Definitely try it and measure your results.
