Default Link Building

I got an email from a firm that uses software to find on-tropic sites, and then sends them an email offering link exchange. I have never done any link exchanges, except with friends and clients whom I trust. Dooes anyone have an opinion on link building via software?

I delete those link software emails. I get 50 a day.

All you get with those emails are the kind of monkeys that sit in a zoo and wait for you to throw bananas at them.

Default More Link Building

I also delete those emails, so here is the big question: what is the best way to build natural (non-paid) links? If you had a client with a $20,000 budget, how would you go about building links for him?

1. If at all you want to use a s/w - it should be Arelis. But remember - it just works a good database manager, but you need to do the rest of the work manually.

How to go about links (long term):

2. Create few on topic directories, promote them and ask for a triangular links.

3. Create articles and syndicate them.

4. Do some "give-aways"

It requires a strategy that is synchronous with the overall marketing strategy.

I typically avoid giving generic ideas - it might work for a site and might not work for others.

Sudha.

With a $20,000 budget a few on topic directories and articles as sudhani as suggested is a good start. Also you can do the following:

(1) Buy directory listings (here are examples)

www.abilogic.com
www.businessseek.biz
www.kellysearch.com
valuecom.com
www.joeant.com

(2) Buy links (here are examples)

(3) Sites to find directories

(4) Outsource link exchanges (here's a company that will do 100 links for $195)

If you are looking for paid directories to submit your site to, you might also want to consider www.seekzap.com, www.allestra.com, and www.uncoverthenet.com
