There is a simple, inexpensive ($10) text extraction tool for Flash files at www.mainzseo.com.
It allows you to create an optimized text only file by extracting the text from an SWF file (thereby eliminating redundant HTML coding) and you can enter an HTML page title and meta tag coding. Additionally you can save the file in a PHP, ASP, JSP, or CFM format for easy re-direct scripting. www.mainzseo.com also contains search engine tips for Flash developers. Note: The tool is based on .Net 1.1, so it requires Windows and .Net 1.1+ installed on your workstation. |

P.S. I also meant to mention that you can also get a swf2html sdk from macromedia (adobe) at the following link:

I could not agree more with the statement that with Flash-based web sites you should focus more on SEM than SEO, but thats true for ALL web sites. Sadly, the reality is that search engines exist, people use them, and it would be sad to completely ignore them as one of the components of a comprehensive marketing strategy. It always seems that someone has a nice neat way to dispense with a posted problem by opining on some contrarian position rather than trying to actually help solve the problem. Ignoring the need to get text out of a Flash file (rather than undertaking duplicative coding) and submitting that text to a search engine is not the most important or only way to get a web site noticed by a target audience, but neither should it be totally ignored.
You might as well have said the real truth, which is that with all web sites SEO is a waste of time, and your efforts and money would be better spent just buying sponsored links if you want to get your site noticed! But then again, upon reflection, perhaps that was your point. |

Hi seokid,
Flash fits into Html, xhtml etc. Use the no frames attribute and fill that with relevant content. Its a work around but should work, because it does!
