Default PR went from 4 to 0 in 1 minute

http://www.prchecker.info/check_page_rank.php

I checked our site's PR through this link. The first time it was a 4 and I was happy. I went on to check some of our competitor's sites PR, laughing as many of them had a pitiful ranking of 0 or 1. HA.

Beaming with pride and wanting another look, I checked my site again. http://crystalcoasttech.com, the letters and punctuation flowed through my fingertips. I had never typed so fast...

Then, my sails deflated, my ballons popped, my marching band fell down. My beloved PR of 4 had slipped to a 0. Are there any specific reasons? To prevent some misuse of that tool, does Google block the results based on IP or something. I would love to know. TIA.

Those sites aren't necessarily reliable, nor is the pr toolbar.
This site http://www.checkpagerank.com/ shows your precious 4 :)

Default thanks for the link

However, when I checked it just now, it was PR 0. Any ideas? I tried it as http://crystalcoasttech.com AND www.

See a pr4 for http://crystalcoasttech.com/ and pr0 for http://www.crystalcoasttech.com/

As cyanide pointed out, toolbar isn't necessarily reliable

Thanks cyanide and scanmonkey. It appears that we have some stabilization now. We will use that tool to monitor the PR from now on. Do you know if we could be penalized for using it too often?

thanks

PR updates once approx every 100 days. You really shouldn't have to check it often.

However, visitors (potential customers and partners) to your site using the Google Toolbar are seeing PR0 and making judgements about your business. They don't know (or care) about other PR checking sites/tools.

Feels great to know Google commands such power over our businesses, doesn't it?

Amen to that. Is Google turning into the next "Big Brother"? Interesting. I ran across an article about Kinderstart suing google over an "unfair" drop in PR.

The target on google's back is starting to get larger.
