sitemap.html - Google Beta

Google is not crawling pages other than my home page. I am not sure if this is because of my sitemap.html which may be formatted incorrectly.

Some assitance would be graetly appreciated.

Google sitemaps should be a .xml file not a html file

I used Google's sitemap tool, and xml file for a while. Google got real lazy with my sites. MSN and Yahoo were still picking up new pages within 48 hours from the still existing sitmap.html file. 2 weeks would pass and Google would finally decide to index the new.

So I told the tool not to use the sitemap.xml file anymore, and Google is back to normal. Back to indexing within 48 hours like Yahoo and MSN.

My advice is to use the good old standard sitemap.html
