Default Delete some images from my site, anything suffers?

I have deleted some images from my server, and I saw that they were in Google images.

If Google doesn't find them, my page rank will suffer, I mean..my place in the search resoults?

Default If you're relying on Images...

If you're relying on Google Image search for traffic and you get rid of those images, then yes - you'll see a reduction in traffic. If you're not relying on that traffic, then no big deal. If you just quit using that image and didn't delete it, you should be just fine either way.

I changed my server, and those images that were not in use, that were not linked to my database, I didn't upload on the new server.

I don't rely on Google image trafic, but I do rely in Google search engine, general one.. :D

Then you're fine. No big deal. Just consider it done.

I think your PR may be affected if Google saw metatags in those images, like a description of the image that relates to your products, etc. I know that Googlebots will look at the source code of your site and rank it accordingly. I would be careful about deleting the text content that was associated with an image, as it may affect your PR.

I use this images for products, but those products aren't in my database anymore..for a long time..

I need to free some space..and I take the deceision to delete some images.

I only rely on regular search, not image search.

All of this images have alt tags.

Please take a minute an look here.. http://www.7shops.com/cgi-bin/index....wprod&id=29854

I delete images like this flat screen, but those products aren't anymore in my database.

You've got PR and ranking mixed up. PR is a little green meter for entertainment purposes, ranking is what could drop if the text hasn't been replaced. But you've also got to realize that, unless they were links, the alt text probably didn't do much of anything anyway. Early spammers made sure of that.

Ah. I see now. So how valuable is alt text to ranking, etc.? I made sure that there was alt text in almost every one of my images, just for good measure. Is it anything more than that?

For ranking, alt text poses very little value unless the image is a link, and then it's pretty minor for same-site links. For usability, a good description of the image is always in order. People with screen readers can't see what the image is, so describing it with a few words makes sense. If it is just a layout image, alt="" is the norm.
