Default How Would You Link These Sites

I have two e-commerce sites (under my signature) and a blog http://safetyenforcement.blogspot.com

I had tons and tons of one way links from the blog to the related e-commerce site.

After Jagger mowed me down, I went through the blog and stripped 100's of text links pointing to section and product pages that they were relevant to.

I found out my code for the affected site was delivering tons of HTML errors and have been fiing them - but it's a long haul.

MY QUESTION: how would you recommend that I link these sites (if at all) to gain benefit but not to spam links. I feel like an 1 1/2 hrs writing a fresh article, merits "some" links - I just don't want to SPAM the e-commerce site.

How would you link them? Would you include a spattering of text links from relevant posts on the blog. Presently I have removed it from my side nav bar and out of all posts.

Sorry for the long post and hope someone will share some knowledge with me. I think I have code errors and found a lot of poor title tags (going to re-write them as I correct the code errors) - not a Link Spam penalty. What do you think?

Default Ignore Google

CZ,

a first page ranking on Yahoo or MSN is worth much more than a minor page ranking on Google. If you weren't spamming there's not much a plaintive response will achieve.

If you think you've been Jaggered unfairly by Google, move on.

If you were spamming. Take the medicine.

dburdon,
I'm not sure what you mean? The self defense site ranks in the top spots on Yahoo! & MSN. The big change was Jagger knocking it back a few pages from top five listings. I've always thought Y! & MSN visitors were "tire-kickers" compared to the sales that Google traffic brought.

As far as spam: I felt it might be spamming but have noticed the terms I've lost, slowly going up a position or two every day. That's encouraging enough to believe it wasn't the links from my blog (spamming) causing a penalty. I see a lot of blogs and sites so spammed and interlinked, you'd think they'd be removed from the index. I wouldn't mention anyone in particular though ;)

Thus, the question on a 3 way link model for me.

Thanks for your reply!

cz,

Link for the end user and when it is relevant to do so, not for positioning on the search engines.
