Default Google can't handle the demand!!

It seems the Google giant can't handle the big demand on their new tool (Google Analytics). Once the new tool has been introduced everyone jumped on the opportunity to get it... am sure google is loving it!

Google Analytics has experienced extremely strong demand, and as a result, we have temporarily limited the number of new signups as we increase capacity. In the meantime, please submit your name and email address at http://www.google.com/analytics/sign_up.html and we will notify you as soon as we are ready to add new accounts. Thank you for your patience.

i was in shock when I saw their message.. abit unexpected from the big giant search engine.. lol

the Q is: can't they afford it? staff? or technology? also do you think they will start charging people for the service? for example if you happen to have more than one website..you have to pay..etc... i am kind of expecting it to be honest.. at the end of the day why would they want to introduce the tool?

Default Google Analytics

I have my sites hosted with Bravenet.com which makes you pay extra for virtually everything under the sun.

My host prior to Bravenet.com set up the tracking program so that the log file grew until it filled the server and slowed my domain response so much that I told her to turn the darned thing off.

Hence for several years I have been virtually clueless about my virtual visitors. So, when Google offered up Urchin I ran (not walked) to sign up all my domains.

Now I can see where my peeps are coming from and who/what is sending them to me. VERRRRRY Happy!

THANKS GOOGLE!

Your peeps? There's only one man that's allowed to have a Peepulation.

ALL HAIL CAPTAIN CHARISMA!

(Waits for at least one other person on here to have any idea who I'm talking about.)

Anyway, as far as Google Analytics goes, I've already got site stats so I never really bothered with it. That, and I was never an Urchin fan to begin with.

As the saying goes: You can't always believe what you read in the newspapers.
Thus, despite the "disclaimer" on your main AdWord report page, click on the Analytic tabs and then the View Results one. There's a good chance that you'll find that your results are already being shown!

Default Adword/Adsense

Ah, but there's the rub

I am a publisher. I publish ads on my sites with Adsense, therefor am not privy to Adwords info. :-)

what I find very funny is that they are asking people to submit their name and email address and they will look into it. what about the Click Fraud they said they will look into it 2 months ago? are they for real?

Honestly. they should stick with Quality and not Quantity. Too many tools and services and not enough staff to deal with the issues..if they are planning to ignore people complaints whats the point of having a customer services email in the first place?

I'm just aa bit dissappointed in myself really!

I decided to add this to my own websites and that was done really easy as my header info was an include.

However on my 9-5 site adding that info to all the different pages would have been a 2 day job. So I put it off for a day.

Now they won't let me add anymore sites!

You know what they say - a wise man learns from his mistakes; a wiser man.......

Not one tool has all the features so right now I use a combination of WebSTAT, Google Anaytics and webanalyzer. I also parse my logs for more details on the url parameters. GA has some features that I find interesting: length of visite, depth of visite, timing, java detection.
Now if only they would display the data...

PS: I need your feedback about

learnt my lesson too!!

lol

by the way - i was recommended to use (clicktracks.com) - has anyone used it before? their salesy way online is impressive - all the visual side of things and what I will get out of it.. but i just need more comments from someone who have used it before...

thanks

Default Google tool improvement

more great news from google - they are fixing the service after it's gone live!! Great project management indeeed... :P

-------------------------------------------
Hello Google Analytics User,

This is a quick update to address some issues you may be seeing
in your Google Analytics account and what we're doing to respond.

First, due to extremely high demand, we've temporarily limited
the number of new signups as we increase capacity. This allows
us to focus on our primary objective--to provide a great user
experience for our existing users.

Next, here is current information on the most common questions
we're receiving:

1. The 'Check Status' button is being reworked to check for
properly installed tracking code. This should be fixed by the
end of November.

2. The '+Add Profile' link has been temporarily removed until
we increase capacity. We'll alert all current users when the
feature is restored.

3. While we increase capacity, you may see longer than normal
delays in data showing up in your reports. All data continues
to be collected and no data has been lost.

For additional help with your Google Analytics account, we
encourage you to browse or search our online Help Center at
http://www.google.com/support/analytics?hl=en.

Thanks for your patience as we improve Google Analytics and add
resources to ensure a high-quality service.

Sincerely,

The Google Analytics Team

If you have access to your log files "Deep Log Analyser" is excellent provides every bit of info you need and involves Zero code on your pages.

Plus you keep your info private....

Default Were they really...

Were they really meaning to launch it, or did Matt Cutts let the cat (be it a sick one, both his and this analytics package) out of the bag too soon? The interface didn't quite seem ready when it launched, nor did the FAQ's seem complete.

I think it just got announced through a powerful medium that they weren't ready for.

Brian.

I think the big bucks inevitably lead to Microsoft's mentality.

"...we've temporarily limited the number of new signups as we increase capacity."

This seems to be a key phrase in their statement.
1) Temporary
2) adding more capacity

We'll see it back up soon.

Not sure what is planned, but it may be one heck of a marketing ploy for Urchin v6 when released.
