Default Yes.

Yes, this can be very bad. It can be seen as duplicate content and devalued in the search engine's eyes.

Best way to handle that is to do a redirect (preferably 301) from one to the other.

You can search this forum for 301 and find lots of examples of how.

Brian.

I've not experienced any problems. I have to take into account our customers using all sorts of permutations of our domain name.

www.midkentwater.com
www.midkent.co.uk
www.midkentwater.co.uk

All have their DNS set effectively the same.

And we score well for generic terms that are promoted on the site. When looking at PR or inbound links, google will score them together so whichever domain I check, I will get the same results.

I've not experienced any problems. I have set the same DNS for each of:

www.midkentwater.com
www.midkent.co.uk
www.midkentwater.co.uk

Google treats them as a single domain when it comes to inbound links, PR etc.
