Default What is more important... sales or position

What am I missing?

DMC in his post http://www.webproworld.com/viewtopic.php?t=54993 makes me wonder….

I agree with him that MSN (and presumably Yahoo) are more relevant in what they offer.

"My pain" in all of these discussions is... so what?

Until the "buyers" start to use some other means of production, Googlizizzle will still be the most productive channel. Or at the very least, the most used engine.

What do you care about more... traffic and position on The "G" or (and I think more importantly), SALES!

Even for your clients, are they more interested in sales or rank/position? I know the argument as I use it all the time.. If you don’t place on the SE high enough, no one will see you.

I thought I knew. And this from the guy that is Nuemro Uno on the biggest search phrase in his space (At least on some G DC's). (I love talking about me in the abstract... I feel so ROYAL).

Throw me a bone here people.... I am searching for answers....

Suggestions and comments are encouraged and welcome.

Michael

Ringing the register is the only thing that counts for me.

You can have a #1 ranking and brilliant traffic but if your "mousetrap" sucks, really matters very little where you rank. No cha-ching. No extra toppings on the pizza tonight.

SEO can make you have a little bit of tunnnel vision.
It does help to be where the people are. Trading links with relevent sites was supposed to serve two purposes and not just because it looked good to the search engines so they would rank you higher. We tend to lose sight that people don't only search to find you. They chat, goto to forums, Look at lists of links, and just peruse the web for anything that sparks their interest.
Wouldn't it be good to just be in a few places people are looking and enjoying their internet experience. Make yourself seen on a few sites that come out as popular and people go to. Its always good to have a backup plan like this when a "Joker Update" is around.

Traffic/Sales is better and position is simply what you have until you luck runs out.

Sidenote: nipplecharms1 - Congrats on your site doing so well. Keep up the great work.
