Hello all. I'm working on a list of target keywords for our esteemed current webmaster, Lance Coffman. His predecessor told me that one should never repeat a keyword in a metag. I know that single keywords, or entire keyword phrases should not be repeated in a meta tag. I've seen web pages ranked lowly for that.
I'm talking about repeating a single keyword in various phrases. For instance, we sell Mutoh Falcon Outdoor largeformat printers. I am inclined to write a meta tag that reads, "large format printer, ecosolvent printer, Mutoh printer, Falcon Outdoor printer," etc. Our former webmaster would translate that to "printer, large format, ecosolvent, Mutoh, outdoor,...". She said the search engine's algorithms would automatically pair individual keywords so that if someone searched for, say, "Mutoh Outdoor printer", it would pick up the three separate keywords and present the page. So my question is: Should I go with the one word phrases and let the algorithms put it together or should I use the two or three word phrases I think shoppers will use, even if it means repeating a single keyword in the various phrases? Thanks in advance for your assistance. Jerry Barrax SSK Sign Supply Lexington, KY www.signsupplystore.com |

You can still do it for the Meta Search Engines, and the small ones out there which still use the Meta Keywords tag.
you should not repeat it more than 3 times in the key words meta tag, I am talking about key phrases.
