Google had first indexed my website two weeks after it was published, and placed it at the fifth page, somewhere.
Three days later the website was promoted to the second page, last place. Three days later it was pushed down to the third page, last place. And now (a week later) it appears at the fourth page, somewhere in the middle. What's the reason for this fall? And what should I do in response? During that peroid, I got new incoming links (although google doesn't show them in "links:" command. Also I updated the website from time to time.. not alot, but it wasn't too static. What do you think? PS, can I mention the website address here? |

The google spiders crawls the internet all the time and keeps on adding new pages to its index as and when it finds new pages.
so if the new sites offer better content, unique content, more incomming links, fresh / updated content and is properly optimized then it will be placed before your website and your website will drop in rankings in the SERP (Search Engine Result Pages) The only thing you can do is to improve your own website. you can post your url here.

The reason why google does not show your new incomming links is that google has not yet updated its backlinks.
You will see your new links in about 3 weeks, Could be sooner also.

Google page ranking system is extremely flawed because there is no way to fit billions of websites on one page for them to get top 10 ranking.
Plus they are anti-business progress because the more efforts you make to attain top 10 ranking, the more they invent new strategies to thwart your efforts. So get this very clearly that it is idiotic to depend on google for traffics. And it is even more idiotic to squander your hard earned money doing Pay per click campaign. Most products and services don't succeed with PPC ads. Most of the internet millionaire marketers who have done extremely well use offline ad campaigns to create a buzz and traffic flood: radio ads, TV ads, direct mail ads, seminar promotions and others. Ask Jack Canfield, Bob Allen, Mark Victor Hansen (who have sold 100 million copies of their "Chicken soup for the soul" and they will affirm what I am telling you!) Therefore, Go forth and do the same and you would be a roaring success. |
