Default Google indexing/display inconsistency?

Hi,

I'm trying to solve a mystery and maybe the answer is simple. Please help if you know the answer.

For Google SERPs, sometimes the keywords in the SERPs are bolded, but sometimes they are not.

See my example for the search term "lab equipment"
http://users.rcn.com/packrow/labequipment.jpg

In case 1: Lab_equipment, neither of the words are bolded. But in case 2, lab is bold twice and equipment once, in the display url. I've seen this a lot of places for a lot of keywords.

What's the reason for this incosistency? Does the bolding mean google is detecting their keywords better? Any feedback would be helpful.

PK

Default Cached pages

You will see, on that page, that the keyword I used to find the page ("ilovejackdaniels") is highlighted in the cached copy of the page. This is one of Google's best features. When searching, many people frequently click through to Google's cache rather than visit the original page, simply because it is easier to pick out information when what you are looking for is highlighted for you.
