Default Something Strange - I need your help

Something strange is going on - our site listing that was always there on the 1st page - keeps disappearing. Can any of you please check to see whether you see our listing? We have always been on page 1 and now twice we just seem to disappear.

Keyword is email marketing - our site is www.mailworkz.com -

Also if you do see us what Title do you see?

I see a number of you have have looked at my post but no one has responded. I really really would like for you to just take a minute and put in email marketing into your google search and let me know if you see our site www.mailworkz.com

If you do not - let me know
If you do - please tell me what position we are in, the title you see and perhaps where geographically you are.

We are in Nova Scotia - when I search from my desk I see us in position 8. Someone across the street searches for us an sees nothing.

I just don't understand why one day we are there the next not and depending on what connection we are checking some see it and some do not>>>>

You are in the first page in position 8. You can get different result from different locations or ISP.

kfegarty,

Checking the top 300 SERPs, I show you @:
GOOGLE #8
Yahoo - Not in Sight
MSN #40

I also reviewed your 1, 2 and 3, word keyphrases, for priority, density and relevancy. The Site seems to be very well SEO'd in that respect. You obviously have spent a great deal of time tweaking the top targeted 2 and 3 word keyphrases to exacting percentages. Have you tried bumping that phrase up or down 1% to see what happens? Have you looked at the leaders in front of you to determine what their density percentages were for that keyphrase?

If you are seeing continued diminishing visits over time, my guess would be that the long history of spam, black hat SEM, congressional acts and the whole dark mess associated with your chosen market, makes it difficult to market a valuable and legal product there.

Judging your past marketing endeavors by the number of IBLs in GOOGLE (242) and YAHOO (39,000) everything seems to be in better than excellent order there.

There is a lot of discussion on "the death of e-mail marketing" in different forums now. Part of the issue of course, is that Spam Filtering software provided at many levels including ISPs, Hosting Companies and Company IT groups.

I believe the primary answer to your question is that GOOGLE tends to adjust algs on a continuing, more publicly digestable pace as opposed to huge update chunks all at once. The more competitive and "grayer" arenas tend to have more instability in the SERPs.

Have you looked at developing any tools that will help automate any of the other aspects of SEM?

Ken

You are right evic!

I used a tool requiring my "GOOGLE API" that runs slightly behind sometimes. Usually it is good within a couple SERP positions.

Doing a manual search I couldn't find you where you were a short time ago either.

At the same time you have slightly improved to #37 in MSN.

This is pretty extreme, from 0 to nowhere and back. How long has this been going on?

I also went back, using the same tool for your #2 2-word keyphrase "bulk email" and found still in #8 at GOOGLE, just as predicted.

How long did it take last time before it bounced back? How long ago did that happen? and, How long was it gone?

You are up against some serious competition e.g. Constant Contact, Click Z, Email Labs, IntelliContactPro -- and look at how many people are using AdWords in the hope of attracting business.
Worse still, although I've heard of Constant .... Pro, your post is the first time I've become aware of mailworkz.
One small point, too: People are likely to search for e-mail as well as email and this can change your position in the SERPs.
In any case, I think you should be pleased that you're #8, which seems to be most of the time.

Thanks all - we seem to be back - it is the strangest thing - we seem to be gone for periods of 1 day at a time and then back and then gone 5 days later for a day and then back on page one.

Has anyone else experienced anything like this??
