Default Google showing text not on our webpage.

'web design virginia' is our primary key phrase.
when i do a search for this, we come up first.
Yet, for some reason the the little blurb on google that is taken from our site, doesnt exist on our web page.
We have had this home page up for some time.
I dont understand where this text is coming from.

Could anyone please give us some insight as to where this text could be coming from?

It could be from your DMOZ listing.

i'll second SEOforGoogle's thought. you can always add your own description via the meta description tag in the header.

be sure to include the keyphrases you are targeting. if i remember jill whalen's interview correctly, when a search is triggered with the keyphrases you are targeting, google should pull your description, provided you've included these phrases.

if not, DMOZ description it is.
