Can you delete your cookies and then do the search and do a shift refresh - do you still see us?

Default Gone!

Hi,

We have been number 1 for "secured loans" and many other related terms for many years in the UK and yet today this page has gone completly folowing a new cache on 18/08/05. We are very heavily linked to with over 1,300,000 backlinks according to Yahoo and Altvista. The URl is http://www.adviceonline.co.uk/personalloans
can anybody check on other data centres? We use no black hat techniques that I am aware of other than one other page http://www.adviceonline.co.uk/loandecisiontree.html cached on 9/8/05 that is similar in content to the URL above. Thse two pages have always existed without problems in the serps.

Any info would be appreciated.

We recently spent one day(first can you believe it?!) doing linkbuilding for ourselves within the sites listed under directories on this forum and we have dropped big time also!! We're still top 10 for our major keyword, but I found it funny that we dropped so much so quickly on other major phrases.

Has anyone else seen some ranking change activity the last few days?

Yep. Been seeing some big changes. We dropped off the first page for the first time in a long time. Updated some content and we came back, but not all the way. We are still jumping around. I hadn't seen any posts here about an update so I figured it was related to other causes.

I'm surprised -- we've had some really nice web site launches in the last few weeks (with a credit on the sites). I was hoping for a jump in the rankings! Been thinking that maybe the new links were hurting us because they are unrelated or because of some other anti-credit-in-the-footer logarithm.

Sounds like we are just going through another update...

For last two day I am getting 10 to 15 % jump in traffic for my main site. So some minor update may be. For my all other sites I don't find any big change.

Dropping some here and there t appears for us as well. Our main project was at #2 and #4 for the top two keywords and is now at 4-5 as of 4 days ago.

This is small of course, but the less important searches have all moved 1-2 pages back as well.

This means we have been hit across the board but significantly less on our top anchored phrases.

Or on the other side of that, sites have moved up past our site likely due to more exact anchor links for them when compared to us on the less important "related type" searches.
