Google China Becomes Pirate Ship

A detailed how-to on this blog informs readers on how to download pirated software from Google China. Apparently finding warez on the Chinese version is surprisingly simple, even if you can’t read Kanji.


Beginning with a disclaimer claiming not to be encouraging piracy, the blog highlights the Chinese characters that mean “cracked version” and “download,” and gives a four-step guide to finding original setup files that are difficult to find with other programs. It even goes so far as to provide a language guide with Kanji translations.

The poster of the blog says it’s incredibly simple to find pirated software.

“There is absolutely no magic or advanced techniques to be used here. The root of the problem is, China has way too many warez sites run by individuals, and Google is so far still crawling and indexing them.”

Reportedly, the same shady techniques can be exploited with Google Russia as well.

are not illegal as far as I know. Where are they hosted? I have no time to check. And I am sure there are hundreds of them.

What can you do with this software?

Ask DVD John in Norway, took him one day to crack the Google video tool.

1. Encrypt
2. Digitally sign your code.
3. Pay young people to test how safe your software (downloads) are.
