Default PageRank - How long before I get one?

My site www.find-a-quote.com is now indexed by almost all major search engines. I have only had it up for a month. I have about 300 links comming in from other sites. Not all are recongized yet by google. But soon. I also will be linked with my business partners soon. Thats about 8 different sites that have to do with insurance and are ranked between 3/10 - 5/10.

So my question is how long before I get a PageRank? I guess I need one before I can get high on the search engine right?

You will probably already have PR internally at Google that is factored into the rankings (for what its worth). Google exports a representation of the PR to the toolbar every 3 or so months lately. I have given up tracking them, but the last one was >6 weeks ago --- someone else may help with the exact date.

Default ok

ok so let me get this straight...Say my site says I have a 0/10 but it's rank is outdated 2 months ago...I actually have a 3/10 but it won't show up to viewer of my site as a 3/10 for another month or so. Does google raise my rank based on what is showing now (0/10) or what it actually might be (3/10)?
Might bake your noodle on that one...

I think that would probably work if there was no danger of your page rank decreasing but unfortunately in the real world I don't think it's as simple as that - but please correct me if I'm wrong! I don't think that time will have such a major impact on google page rank; it's more based upon number of relevant inbound links for example which will be reviewed each time google refreshes your sites page rank. As google puts it: "Page rank interprets a link from Page A to Page B as a vote for Page B by Page A. Page rank then assesses a page's importance by the number of votes it receives". During this process google will also take into account factors such as the importance of each page that votes and gives more weight to the votes cast by more important sites. Therefore the theory goes that links with more sites that have high page rankings (and importance) will increase your page rank quicker than by using links from less important sites.

Looking at your post again I’m not sure whether I have actually answered your question or not so sorry if I’m not helping!!

Default The google page rank

We launched our new site at the end of march and must of done it at the right time as our home page got listed in google and ranked within 2 week but it is only over the last couple of weeks that the rest of the pages have been showing up with an actual page rank even though they were already indexed by google. In my opinion you just have to submit your site to google and play the waiting game and you will get that little green bar eventually.

Yes - Google only export a reprsentation of the internal PR to the toolbar every 3 months or so. A Google employee has said they update PR internally daily.

Yes (assuming it is a PR 3)

It will be ranking now based on the PR Google has for the site internally. The search results never change (except for normal daily flucuations) when they export the representation of PR to the toolbar (PR update) as its already been factored in.
