From the horse's mouth:
Quote:
Use a text browser such as Lynx to examine your site, because most search engine spiders see your site much as Lynx would. If fancy features such as JavaScript, cookies, session IDs, frames, DHTML, or Flash keep you from seeing all of your site in a text browser, then search engine spiders may have trouble crawling your site.
That said, as far as I've heard, the spider's can't read flash sites at all.

Well if the site is flash only there is not much you can do.. For SEO to be done right there must be text (content) otherwise links, meta, url...

Default Flash websites

It's not impossible to rank well based on backlinks, url and meta tags only but I would recommand a little link at the bottom of the page that would lead to a sitemap offering textual content. On your sitemap, you could for example have a link called "Flash Design" that would lead to a page using meta tags and some text related to "Flash Design" while inviting visitors to go to your main page that is strictly flash (other than the link directing spiders to your sitemap of course). This way you don't have to change your whole site to make spiders happy and you can target specific keywords.

IMHO.....Google are doing the search public a favour by not ranking flash sites :-)

Well it is common knowledge that google can crawl through flash content for text and all so i have taken a different approach in solving the problem

What i have done is that i have placed the information regarding the website on the PreLoader of the Flash Intro which is the first page of the site,

And placed text hyper links to the files below the flash content so the crawler has some pages to follow to. now we just need to submit the second page of the site in google.

if anyone is interested, check out http://www.lydtele.no

I would like your feedback on this.
