Default Help Me Beat An Seo Savvy Competitor

Our competitor ranks pretty high for a keyword "Choosing a Medical Alert" his site pioneeremergency.com/FreeReport.shtml

I wrote an article to try to rank higher than this guy. Here is some info about my article.

Optimizing for 2 keywords. "Choosing a Medical Alert" and "Medical Alert System"

My article is 1050 words
Page Title: 13 Tips You Should Know When Choosing a Medical Alert System

Headline: "The 13 Most Crucial Points You Need to Know When Choosing a Medical Alert System"

I have a keywords phrase "Choosing a Medical alert" repeat about 4 times and a keyword "Medical Alert System" repeat about 10 times.

I have keywords in the headline, bolded and bulleted.

Any suggestions? What would you do to beat that guy in SEO ?

Thank you.

Default Optimising for choosing a medical alert systems

Pianist,

you're talking about a report. What format are you using? Is it one that Google et al can crawl and index? Don't forget that HTML, XHTML and then PHP work best. Also PDFs work fine. But it appears that the links it contains don't necessarily get followed.

Second think about your keyword arrangements. The earlier the better - even in the heading. So turn things around. e.g. Medical Alert System:

Then use h1, h2 tags etc. After that I'm not sure that you need to go for overkill.

Lastly don't forget the offpage. You need some links. Especially for Google.

That's a tough request without an URL. You are asking about SEO but discussing SEM.

Is there a particular reason you don't provide a link either in your post or in your profile?

I don't have the link now because it's not uploaded. I only have this in MS Word.

I'll be sure to post this topic when I upload the page. I guess then others can do a comparison and easily see what can be done to improve the copy.

Thank you.

so you want help on beating an established article with a new, unpublished one? not to sound cynical or rude, but you'll need to wait until you get the article published before any help can be offered.

I am totally lost here!

Ranking has to be associated with an URL.

Are you a freelance author that is trying rank better than another author for the same Site that you mentioned above, or is there another site involved?

Usually, competition is between different Sites, here.

Default Authority

Pianist,

Google likes authority. Post as a .pdf not .doc.
