Can someone point me in the right direction of a good program and tutorial for creating google sitemaps?

google has its own site map builder made by google for webmasters. just visit the following link.

Thanks for the additional tool links. I tried using the google one but it wouldn't work with my site.

I too hit the 750 limit, I found a link to phpSitemapNG on google sitemap page: http://code.google.com/sm_thirdparty.html
So, give one or more a try - I was lucky that the php version fit my need.
