Last night, a friend asked me what exactly it does when he puts link|www.domain.com into Google. This shows far more pages that link to him than link:www.domain.com (some aren't links but just textual references), but I have no idea what that command is supposed to do. I do find the results to be more interesting when checking it on my site as well.
Brian.

It's the same as putting your site in quotes.
"www.domain.com" = link|www.domain.com Although I don't know why they have that function with the |, why did your friend type that in? Another function I don't get is on XP with 1 monitor if you hold alt, control and the arrow keys you can rotate your monitor. |

As for why he typed that, I have no idea. Brian.

Are we sure that "link|www.anysite.com" is a command and not just a search query of those words & characters?
If you put any word where the "link" is, such as "shirt" or "pants", you'll get probably just as many results and they'll look pretty similar. Quote:
