Default Link question on google. Missing links.

Hey guys, for the past month I have been working to raise my link popularity and have been disapointed with my results as I have only risen from 2 to 8. Or so I thought. All the link checkers told me that, but when I went into google and did a search for webpages that included my URL rather then 'linked' to it, I got over 50 results. Every site in that listing in fact had links pointing at my site... but as far as I can tell, Google is not recognizing this... I am stumped, anyone know whats going on?

The Google link: command only returns a sub-set of the actual link pool. Google doesn't usually report links from pages with a PageRank less than 4.

Not at all! Every link into your site helps as long as it isn't from a page that Google has penalized.

I witnessed something witch will give an idea of how it works:

Two similar websites have PR5
Website 1 has 127 back links
Website 2 has 34 back links

When I checked it I found out that website 1 has 600 webpages pointing to it's index.

Website 2 had over 5000 inbound links and only some of them were over PR3 and some of them even didn't have PR at all.

"Aha" - you said.

PS. Website 2 had much better listing on Google then website 1.

"hmm" - I said.

Default Google balls

I'll start by stealing their bandwidth... I calculated it will take me 26 years to flash this image over the internet to balance their coast of the bandwidth with my daily lose after Florida update..

They have to pay somehow :)
