Default How to get noticed by Google?- #1 on Yahoo/MSN

Our Interior Design website ranks #1 for search on both MSN and Yahoo! for a particular key phrase: "bangalore interior design". But I am way down at #370 for this key phrase on Google. Any help or pointer to do well on Google would be most welcome. Our site has been up for about 3 months now with this URL while we earlier had an older URL dspot.org from where I have used 301 re-directs to the present URL. We had a PR:5 on Google before it dropped out over the past couple of days which is the subject of another thread here on WPW.

Default Soundsl ike Sandbox

Sounds like you may be in the Sandbox. Do a search on this forum for that phrase... it's been discussed a lot here.

Brian.

Default Longevity Counts AND Code

I completely concur with Brian, your first hurdle will be that you site is very new to Google and longevity goes a long way with G!

ALSO - your code should be reviewed and corrected.

W3C shows your page with nearly 100 errors, most of which could be correct by replacing "&" with "&".

Additionally, you seem to have a lot of unnecessary, if not unintelligle, code; make sure you need everthying that is there, else remove or edit it. Putting a robot revisit 1 day will not get you indexed everyday by Google if they determine you're not updating/changing daily.

Why do you have excessive and redundant keywords - this too will come back to haunt.

I wouldn't panic too much - just tweak and be patient.

Good Luck!

If it's indeed the Sandbox, I don't understand why I get quite a few landings on our website from Google searches. Some of those keywords even rank #2/ #3 for the relevant key phrase. I have to admit I have not optimised for some of those keywords, but Google seems to have decided on the issue.

Thaks so much for the quick check. Yes, I will have to remove the excessive keywords. As for the W3C check which turns up so many ampersands, I have to find a way out. My website is currently built on the Mambo CMS, and it seems to be a feature (!!) of this CMS to insert so many ampersands. Anyway I will keep tweaking and hope for the best.

Well Mambo CMS was not the problem for all the ampersands, but some of the components and modules used with it. I have cleaned them up and as of now most of my XHTML seems to check out on W3C.[/url]

I am not so sure it the sandbox - how old is the site?

Its possibly more a factor of Google putting more emphasis on keywords in anchor text than Yahoo and MSN, so it could simply just be because most of your incoming links not having the keywords as the anchor text.

Default He said 3 months

In his first post, he said it was up for about 3 months. Seems like sandbox time to me.

I see some positive movement in Google search rankings for my optimized keywords today. Looks like the Google update in progress is making things better.

I guess tweaking and optimizing for keywords in pages and links is what I will have to do.

the website is live since 2003. I don't think there is any sandbox effect...

Please type in
bangalore interior design site:www.designspot.in
in google bar.You will come to know in which pages your targeted term is appearing the Title + body of the web pages.

I recommend TITLE should be

bangalore interior designers, architectural and Landscape Designer

and DESCRIPTION should be

bangalore interior designers, architectural and Landscape Designer company at Bangalore, India, delivers creative commercial and residential design solutions to clients.

There are certain issues with your website...

1. Back links :designspot.in ::
Google : 340
Yahoo : 23
MSN : 55

If you analyze the site saturation then you will find that most of the webpages are indexed as similar pages on GOOGLE

2. Your website is not yet indexed in DMOZ

3. From the last 3 months, there is almost no change in your traffic, reach per million and page views.
You need to refresh content of the website.

4. search box is not much visible

6. There is no meta, anchor, image, code, content and anchor optimization of your website.

7. Trust factor is somehow 70% OK

IF FIND MY ISSUES RELEVANT THEN I CAN SUGGEST YOU SOME WAYS.....
