Sandbox Misnomer

Shouldn't the Google Sandbox be renamed the Google Quicksandbox?

The harder you try to get out, the more it pulls you in :)

Does it really work that way?

If it really works that way, then quit trying to get out. I've been lucky enough to have my newest site established in 2001, so I've never had to deal with it.

I just bought a new domain for something that we're not really looking to to do well in SERPs, but rather to get some exposure in magazines. I plan on trying to get it to rank for a few terms, but nothing crazy, so maybe I'll finally get to see the frustrations known as the Sandbox first hand.
