Default STILL sandboxed in Google after almost 6 months.

Hi Everyone,
I just don't know what I'm doing wrong. Thought I'd check in with everyone again, because you all gave me some great insight last time I posted.

It's now a few months later and my site does not come up in Google when you type in my site's name, let alone any of my keywords. http://www.chelseasofnewyork.com or http://www.chelseasofnewyork.com/exo...ewearHOME.html

Any advice?
Thanks much,
Michele

My targeted keywords are: sexy gowns, sexy costumes, stripper clothes, st. pauli girl costume, sexy cop costume, exotic dancewear, evening gowns, clubwear.

Also, do you think my domain name is the problem. It was originally just www.chelseasofnewyork.com without the extension, then the website builder that I use (citymax.com) made me add the extension on to it. I just couldn't have the URL without it. Is it a re-direct issue?

Thanks for the help!
Michele

chelseaandco -

Some quick observations:
Domain name is not a problem.
The Re-direct could be an issue, make sure it's 301 redirect, done on the server.
You have no robots.txt file.
You have no 404 Error handling page.
can't find a sitemap.

How many directory submissions do you have?

You have a links page, what is the anchor text you're using for the links pointing to your site?

Keyword phrase - In Bound Links Needed - Google Sites
s*xy costumes - 116 - 1,800,000 Results
s*xy gowns - 30 - 1,860,000 Results
stripper clothes - 39 - 734,000 Results

From the looks of it, you should focus on getting text links to your site for each of your keyword phrases. Whether through directory submissions, reciprocal linking, or even buyting text links, that would help your site.

And last but not least, add content. You need to seperate your site from all the other sites that sell the same clothing.

Write articles about the difference between an evening gown and a sexy dress. While it may seem like common sense to you, to the reader, they may not know there is a difference.

Not only are you providing information to the reader, but you are also providing information to the search engine, and you can also add your other keywords into the articles and even cross link them if it makes sense.

Also, if possible, add more information to the product descriptions.

Hope this helps!

SEOforGoogle, thanks alot for the help. I just don't know how to address some of the issues myself.

As for buying text links, who is reputable?

"As for buying text links, who is reputable?"
- In my experience, you should determine how much you can spend per month for this. Then, go after 1 or 2 "Big" links. By this I mean for your site, if it were possible to get a link from Victoria's Secret, that would certainly help your site.

From a search engine perspective, a link from VS to your site only validates your site in the eyes of the search engine that your site is extremely relevant to s*xy gowns (or whichever text link you used) and that will greatly boost your rankings.

In this part of the game, VS already has the name brand user already looking for them, so you need to comepete based on product, not brand name, that's why it makes sense to get a link from them.

Here are some link brokers where you can find available sites:

http://www.textlinkbrokers.com/
http://www.text-link-ads.com/
http://www.linkadage.com

I also have a list of seo resources that I use at the following url:
http://seoresources.seoforgoogle.com/

Let me know if you have any other questions!

- Paul
