Strange treatment from Google

Our 3 years old site BUSINESS-IDEA providing business ideas exchange experiences some strange treatment from Google. The site is optimized and ranks fairy well in Google for key words “business ideas” and “business idea”. No problem there.
There are hundreds of postings in the BUSINESS-IDEA’s Forum. Each posting is optimized for various key words and each posting displays AdSence ads. About 60% traffic coming to the site used to originate through these postings. On May-17-2004 the traffic fell to 5%. This happened before but it was always during Google dance. To my knowledge there isn’t any Google dance now.
The traffic comes from the same countries, as before, thus there shouldn’t be any connectivity problems.
No changes where done to the posting pages either.

What is going on?

Google is constantly updating and tweaking its index and changing rules all the time. Therefore this may happen at times to any site.

From what i have seen, Google does not like your dynamic pages like ShowPosting.asp?ID=xxx. If you fix this problem you should see high increase in traffic. To do this you will need to use mod-rewrite on your website and translate that url in something like for example www.business-idea.com/xxx.htm or www.business-idea.com/xxx/ . You will also need to modify your forum scripts to generate the new URLs.
