Default Instant Page Rank of 5

Hey guys,
I have come across a forum which has simply amazed me ! Basically the forum has a PR of 6, and it is based on IPB (Invision Power Board). Everytime I post a new message on the board, the topic is automatically attributed a PR5 grade !! How do they do it ?

The site in question is a french site which can be found at www webmaster-hub com (Remove space and add the dots)

Any ideas would be appreciated !

Sam

My guess is that it's the template surrounding the forum code that has the PR attached to it and then the content is just framed or something like that.

It depends on how the forum is setup, but most sites lose only 1PR if you have a single variable in the url:

Ex:
mysite.com/index.php - PR6
mysite.com/index.php?page=2 - PR5

Google assigns 1 less PR to the page. I have experimented with this some, and the page does not have to even be spidered in google for it to get PR.

I have also seen some deceptive webmasters use this to make an inflated link exchange page. They never linked to the page anywhere but it had a PR4 or PR5.

Interesting ! Weird to see that this thread has a PR of 2 and that the main forum has a PR of 6 !
