Default Higher found links in yahoo but not google.

Hi,

Yahoo finds about 109 backlinks to my website www.sasdating.com . But google only find 12. (for the index page).

Any suggestions as to why and how I can get google to find more backlinks to my page. Thanks.

See the sticky at the top of this forum .... Google have only ever shown a small sample of links. What is in the sample has no relationship to what they know about and what they use for PR and ranking.

Default Answer: Due to how others link to you

Hi there

The reason for differences is due to the way that other webmasters link to your site.

There are three different forms of URLs that can link to your site

Results 1 - 10 of about 12 linking to www.sasdating.com

Results 1 - 10 of about 201 for
http:// www.smsdating.com.

Results 1 - 2 of 2 linking http://sasdating.com/

Since you are on unix servers there is a solution to make all three links point to onlu one of the three which would help in Google Toolbar PR somewhat as well as give you a clear link count.

It should also be noted what one search engine counts as backlinks, and what another counts, would usually be different since they are two different types of search engines, each with their own unique algorithims for determining results rankings.
